What We Do

Eight ways we care for rivers, nature and people

From the banks of the Tapti to communities across India — this is the work our volunteers do.

Adopt Your River

River Cleaning

Rivers are not just a source of water — they are the foundation of life. Under our “Adopt Your River” campaign, volunteers clean the Tapti, local streams and other water sources so they can become clean and full of life again.

  • Removing plastic and waste from river banks and water edges
  • Cleaning local streams, nallahs and water sources
  • Awareness about water conservation in riverside villages
  • Caring for the Tapti all the way from its source in Multai

Plastic-Free Ghats

Ghat Cleaning

Ghat cleaning never stops for us. Our volunteers, villagers and public representatives clean ghats on both Maa Tapti and Maa Narmada all year round — today we look after 30 ghats regularly.

  • 30 ghats on the Tapti and Narmada cleaned regularly
  • Plastic-free ghat campaign — removing plastic and puja waste
  • Special drives at Diwali and Kartik Purnima melas
  • Your gift buys gloves, brooms and sacks — our volunteers give their time
Tree Plantation photo 03
Greenery is Prosperity

Tree Plantation

Plantation goes on all year — and every Tapti Janmotsav we plant across villages. We don’t just plant a sapling; we look after it until it grows into a tree. Local children and young people adopt the plants.

  • Tapti Janmotsav plantation drives every year since 2024
  • Planting at schools, panchayat buildings, roadsides and river banks
  • ₹200 plants and raises one tree — you can sponsor 1 to 501 trees
  • Goal: at least 100 trees in every school and gram panchayat we work with

Protecting Nature

Environment

Pollution, water scarcity and global warming now threaten everyday life. We help people understand their responsibility towards nature and turn that into action in their own village or city.

  • World Environment Day programmes and sapling gifting
  • Awareness on pollution, plastic and saving water
  • Developing the banks of the Tapti as a “green zone”
  • Working with schools and youth to build a habit of caring for nature

Healthy Soil, Healthy Farms

Agriculture

Most families along the Tapti depend on farming. A healthy river and healthy farms go together — this is a growing part of our work with farmers and villages, to protect soil and water for the next generation.

  • Awareness about soil health and natural farming
  • Saving water on farms and protecting local water sources
  • Planting trees on farm boundaries and village common land
  • Connecting young people in villages with nature and farming
Food Distribution photo 06
Nobody Sleeps Hungry

Food Distribution

Sometimes a single meal is not just food — it is hope. We serve food packets to children, the elderly, and families waiting at hospitals for their loved ones — on members’ birthdays, special days, and whenever the foundation has funds.

  • Food packets for patients’ families at hospitals, children and the elderly
  • From 10 to 500 packets at a time — ₹40 per packet
  • Birthdays, Foundation Day and special days celebrated through seva
  • You can sponsor a food distribution in a loved one’s name
Humanitarian Service photo 07
Service to People

Humanitarian Service

Our members don’t only clean ghats and plant trees — they are always ready to help people in need. When someone needs blood or protection from the cold, our volunteers step forward.

  • Blood donation for patients in urgent need (Bansal Hospital and AIIMS Bhopal)
  • Winter blankets and essentials — ₹100 per blanket, from 1 to 100 at a time
  • Help for poor and helpless people in our society
  • Spreading humanity, compassion and cooperation
Culture & Awareness photo 08
From People to People

Culture & Awareness

Our culture flows like the Tapti — from generation to generation. Temple cleaning and public awareness are an ongoing part of our work, and restoring old temples and heritage sites is our next step.

  • Regular cleaning of temples and their surroundings
  • Awareness drives at melas, like Kartik Purnima at Barahling Ghat
  • Celebrating our heroes, like Shivaji Jayanti, with young people
  • Coming next: restoring old temples and archaeological sites
